With the 2012/2013 regular season coming to a close, it is time to announce the nominees for the regular season awards. I will list each of the awards and provide a brief description of the award (word for word off of Wikipedia) and then list the nominees. Who wins the awards? That's up to the readers. On the left hand side of the blog, you will find a poll for each of the awards. You may select one (1) nominee only for each award, so choose wisely. Lady Byng Memorial Trophy: Awarded to the player who exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct with a high standard of playing ability.

Frank J. Selke Award: Awarded to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game.

Bouttete, Ryan: 7 Points in 8 GP, Played Forward/Defence

DiCarlo, Dan: 1 Point in 10 GP, Played Forward/Defence

Jack Adams Award: Awarded to the coach judged to have contributed to his team's success.

McGuire, Jerry: 1 Game Coached, Intense Motivator

Morand, Alexandra: Coached a few games, got fired

Turnbull, Dylan: Only made a few games, lost him to the Petes

NHL Foundation Player Award: Awarded to the player who applies the core values of hockey to enrich the lives of people in his community.

Djordjevski, Alex: Huge icon in both the Macedonian and Swedish communities

McNaughton, John Matthew: Showed everyone it's never too late to pick up the game

Mark Messier Leadership Award: Awarded to the player who exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team, on and off the ice, during the regular season.
